Additional Free Parking Announced for Ennis Christmas Period
Up to 600 extra carpark spaces are now available in Ennis during peak Christmas shopping times, as people are encouraged to shop and celebrate locally this festive season.
Clare County Council has announced that over 50 free spaces are available at the Old Boys NS until January 5, from 8am to 8pm.
Up to 200 free spaces will also be available at the Holy Family NS on weekends and all day from December 20, 2025, to January 3, 2026, inclusive.
Furthermore, free parking will be available at council offices in Áras Contae an Chláir and Waterpark Campus each weekend before Christmas, as well as Christmas Eve.
Clare County Council has also announced that all Ennis public car parks will be free of charge from 2pm daily, and free all day on Sundays, until January 1, 2026.
Director of Services of Planning, Economic, Rural & Community Development at Clare County Council, Jason Murphy, said, “Clare County Council is encouraging people to shop locally as much as possible this Christmas. We are fortunate to have a wide range of local businesses offering unique Christmas gifts and services in towns and villages across the county. The new parking measures provided in Ennis this Christmas will provide extra parking spaces to facilitate an increase in shoppers and visitors to the county town during peak Christmas shopping times.”
Private carparks will also be available at usual prices.
